Job TitleIRC22765 Procurement Buyer
LocationEnergySolutions US Headquarters

·       Seeks “best value” suppliers for off-the-shelf MRO goods and services through market research, price quotes and other company approved methods.


·       Selects appropriate goods or services for purchase in response to an applicable purchase requisition, and negotiates the purchase and delivery of such goods or services.


·       Reviews requisitions and specifications to ensure adherence to EnergySolutions’ policies and procedures.


·       Conducts competitive and noncompetitive procurements, evaluates vendor proposals, determines offer responsiveness, responsibility and eligibility for award and provides support for discussions and negotiations.


·       Responsible for coordinating, developing, and producing requests for proposals,  purchase agreements, change orders, pricing/sourcing justifications, price analysis and supporting file documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.


·       Responsible for monitoring and tracking supplier deliverables.


·       Assists with the negotiation of terms and conditions with suppliers or subcontractors.


·       Ensures price analyses are conducted and adequately documented to ensure fair and reasonable prices.


·       Negotiates changes to subcontracts and purchase orders that may occur during the course of performance.


·       Coordinates with technical contacts to develop pre-award source selection strategy and plans.


·       Acts as the primary point of contact for all contract functions related to each award.


·       Supports one or more customers and providing a full range of procurement services.


·       Interface with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery performance and resolve issues in a timely manner.


·       Close-out of subcontracts.


·       Provides support to  internal employees for travel  related issues and assisting in the preparation of monthly travel metric reports.


·       Issuing and administering company purchase cards and assisting in providing monthly purchase card metric reports.


·       Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Experience

·       Possesses a  professional level of knowledge and experience applying standard procurement practices and procedures, as well as a general knowledge of other business processes. Experience applying and demonstrating standard procurement knowledge in solving a wide range of day-to-day problems.


·       Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial transactions, and allocation methods


·       Basic knowledge of Enterprise Business System Procurement applications


·       Basic understanding of data analytics and tools


·       Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, particularly Teams, Word and Excel


·       Ability to successfully make quick decisions without circumventing procurement policy and procedure.


·       Strong written and verbal communication skills


·       Ability to work as a team member, and also work independently with little coaching


·       Ability to adapt and work on varying assignments


·       Strong interpersonal and presentation skills


·       Demonstrated ability in multitasking and working in a fast paced environment


·       Demonstrated strength with relationship management


·       Working knowledge of Enterprise Procurement Systems


Preferred Experience

·       Basic knowledge of SAP S/4Hana applications

·       Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) certification preferred

Minimum Qualifications and Years of Experience


·       Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Mgmt. or Logistics preferred


Required Experience:

·       4 years of experience in the acquisition of MRO supplies and services in support of a production facility.


Preferred Experience:

·       4 years of supply chain purchasing and subcontracting administration experience supporting production facilities or environmental/nuclear services projects
