Description

Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities

·         Performs the leak testing efforts for casks within the Company.  Ensures compliance with EnergySolutions policies and procedures and with local, state and federal regulations.  Performs cask work as part of a team of semi-skilled and skilled workers.

·         Performs leak testing on Casks.

·         Verifies work is being performed in accordance with the design package.

·         Ensures work is performed in accordance with all procedures governing leak testing.

·         Provides required documentation on all completed jobs.

·         Interfaces with internal customers to resolve issues that arise on leak testing casks in the field.

·         Assists Company vendors with leak testing efforts on various casks.

·         Works with internal engineering and Company vendors to develop new pre-shipment leak testing program for 8-120B and 10-160B casks.

·         Maintains Company equipment inventory required to support leak testing efforts.

·         Develops and reviews leak test procedures.

·         Works with internal engineering to develop integral leak test for 8-120B/10-160B cask bodies.

·         Inspects shipment rigging and assists in hooking slings/wire rope to crane rigging/hook(s).

·         Helps secure containers. Determines when containers are secure and meet Department of Transportation regulations.

·         Trains Technicians on various tasks involving leak testing.

·         May perform the work of an Operator 3, 4 or 5 as required.

·         May provide the training of an Operator 3, 4 or 5 as needed and reviews the work of others as needed.

·         Is responsible for maintaining inventory supplies and keeping rig inventories.

·         Proctors specific/ practical examination for the personnel to be qualified in leak testing.

·         Works on obtaining Level II qualifications in Pressure Change Measure Test (PCMT) and Mass Spectrometer Leak Detector (MSLD) leak testing techniques.

·         May need to travel as required.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements/Skills

·         Ability to read and understand engineering design documents including drawings, specifications and test instructions

·         Ability to understand and follow directions for assembly of components

·         Ability to assess and evaluate skills of techniques

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills

·         Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office

 

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions

·         Physically capable of performing work inside liners

·         Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

·         Ability to work off elevated platforms/ladders

·         Ability to bend and reach in different upper body positions

·         Skilled at using hand and power tools

Minimum Qualifications and Years of Experience

Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements

Education

·         High School diploma or GED

 

Certifications

·         Must pass PCMT examination

·         Must have completed EnergySolutions Leak Test Technician training and test

·         Assistant Broker Qualification preferred

·         Crane Qualifications preferred

 

Required Experience

·         A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in manufacturing

·         None preferred
